We have been contacted by the service co-ordinator of the Brentwood Learning Partnership Association (BLPA), Sue Allen, with information on a new project that will begin next month. Sue wrote a guest blog for us last year outlining the role of the BLPA and the support services for Brentwood’s pupils it seeks to support (Guest Blog: “The Brentwood Local Delivery Group – Supporting local pupils and their families” http://wp.me/p2dr6s-bv).
“The Brentwood Learning Partnership Association was successful in obtaining funds from Essex County Councils Family Innovation Fund. This funding is being used to provide a project for Families and Schools Together (FAST) which will offer specialist services for families in the borough.
The services are available for all families although they will be very useful for those who are finding life more difficult after divorce separation on bereavement.
The FAST Project will offer the following services:-
· Practical Budgeting and benefits advice
· Parenting sessions
· Mentoring and counselling services
· Advice and signposting
· Family mediation
Ideally the project will be available in sites around the borough increasing its accessibility to families living outside of the town centre. If you would like to have any part of the project delivered for your families then please get in touch.
In the meantime I have attached a flyer to gauge interest from families which I should be grateful if you would circulate as widely as possible. If you are in touch with families who would benefit from this kind of support then please highlight the Meet Up Session running on 23rd April at Merrymead House, Sawyers Hall Lane”
Further information is provided in this leaflet:
